Make your own Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread

As you might be aware, the original form of Nutella is not as healthy as it claims to be. The ingredients listed on the label along with those figures across the sugar row is enough for me to say: it's time to make my own.

I activated about 3/4 cup of hazelnuts or a couple of hours and then put them on a pan to roast them slightly - just to give them that crunch. I placed these in the Vitamix along with cacao, carob, coconut oil, cinnamon and Celtic salt. I did have to keep playing with the ingredient levels until I got them right, which is why I haven't indicated them here. You will basically have to keep testing it until you work out what else you might need.

In case you make it too soft, I've added dessicated coconut in the past to thicken it back up.
Give it a go, and enjoy!

Decision made - proud Vitamix owner

I've wanted a Vitamix ever since I saw the first demonstration. I knew it would be a hero on my kitchen bench and would never see the dark side of a cupboard. The hefty price did see me entering competitions, texting for the daily Sunrise cash cow call and researching a  negotiated price from a wholesaler but no one will budge, and no phone from the morning cow just yet!
So we bit the bullet and decided it was time, we were going to fork out for the Vitamix, pros outweighing the cons, justifications concrete.
Wow, what a machine, this baby is strong. Check out one of the first recipes we made, and start tuned for updates!
